Sonnenalp Golf Course
Category: Golf course
Sonnenalp Golf Course is just 500 metres (550 yards) away from the Hotel & Resort Sonnenalp near Ofterschwang.
The exclusive 18-hole championship course (course length 6,163 metres (6,740 yards), par 73) was designed by Donald Harradine in 1975, nestled perfectly into the picturesque landscape of the Alpine foothills. Against a backdrop of ever changing mountain views, scratch players and those with higher handicaps can enjoy supremely maintained grounds with exceptional fairways. The 18 holes require technical skill, strategic play, and sometimes the courage to take a risk. Architect Kurt Rossknecht redesigned and modernised the course in 2008.
Just like Oberallgäu Golf Course, this 18-hole course is situated among softly rolling hills and features a similar level of difficulty. Two courses very near each other - yet miles apart in terms of gameplay - this combination is particularly attractive for true golf enthusiasts, and hard to find anywhere else!
A modern driving range and well-stocked pro shop offering everything to make a golfer’s heart skip a beat leave nothing to be desired for a perfect game of golf. Sonnenalp Golf Course is affiliated with the Bernard A. Kennedy Golf School. Both golf courses therefore offer private and group lessons, intensive courses, and tournament training weeks led by international golf professionals. Courses for children and teenagers offer a taste of the sport. A perfect round of golf at the Golf Resort Sonnenalp - Oberallgäu will end at Hole 19: Two traditional club houses await your visit, both with cosy and elegant interiors, and a spacious sun terrace. Golfers of all ages come together here - for some celebrating or just shooting the breeze - while already looking forward to next time. The Hörnerdörfer villages offer top class golf for everyone!
