You usually take a bus to get to school or to work, but to take a trip into nature?
A clear YES sounds from the Hörnerdörfer villages! As of this summer, trained nature park guides have been taking up to eight visitors into the 400 square kilometres (154 square miles) park in our exclusive nature park bus.
On this trip, you are practically beamed 25 million years back in Earth’s history! Taking in tips, impressions and experiences from local guides will give you some intimate insights into nature. With Wolfgang Zeller, our most passionate nature park guide, you will be on first name basis in no time at all. After all: at altitudes above 1,000 metres (3,281 feet) everyone is family, as this walking and talking Allgäu encyclopaedia will explain. He knows every plant, recognises each bird by its song, and knows exactly, where the season’s last gentians or some aromatic wild chives can be found. Until October, a total of six differently themed tours per week are on offer. The ‘Pearls of the Nature Park’, as these tour experiences are entitled, can be found at sunrise, in the Nordic landscapes of our Allgäu region, in search of wild herbs, or by discovering a spring tufa stone. Three local nature park guides will be driving the exclusive shuttle until 5 October. Prices range from €8 to 32 per person, including shuttle and guided tour.
At the AlpSeeHaus, the nature park centre, you will then be given the opportunity to take another look at what you have learned from the viewpoint of an extraterrestrial. The interactive exhibition in neighbouring Immenstadt features a laboratory, command centre, expedition videos, and explorer stations, and is ideal for family trips and a convenient alternative for rainy days.
