Panoramic views across the Iller river valley, at the very heart of the Allgäu Alps. You won’t find a more picture perfect mountain village than this gem at the foot of the Hörnerkette mountain range, surrounded by picturesque Alpine meadows.
A picture-book village in the Allgäu – set on top of a sunny plateau with unrivalled panoramic views. Bolsterlang remains as a mountain farmer’s village, untouched by time. Rambling walking trails take you across softly rolling Alpine meadows. In the background: the majestic peaks of the Hörnerkette mountain range, situated in the Nature Park Nagelfluhkette. The panoramic ‘Hörner’ tour ranks among the most popular in the Allgäu region. A cable car at the outskirts of the village carries hikers, mountain bikers, archers, and hang and paragliding enthusiasts to an altitude of 1,700 metres (5,580 feet).
In winter, the surrounding ski region with its 38 kilometres (24 miles) of glittering slopes to explore is an ideal family destination. From Bolsterlang and Sonderdorf, it is just a 250 metres (820 feet) walk to the village lift, which is connected to the Hörnerbahnen cable cars via a ski slope. The cross-country trail network is reached just as quickly.
