History of Alpe Osterberg:
The Alpe Osterberg was first mentioned in 1608 and was originally called "Krebinenberg". Remnants of foundations on the pasture reaffirm the stories, that once here even used to be a very small settlement. The architecture of todays establishment indicates an origin around 1850. The former Sennalpe was 42 hectares large and has been used for 34 cows. Since 1894 it belongs to the Rohrmooser Alps, the princely Oberförsterei of Waldburg-Wolfegg. In the 20th century the tenants were for many years the sisters Müller. From 1975 it was managed as a young cattle farm from Alpe Kessler from the Kleinwalsertal. In 1984 the Alpine hut was then renovated fundamentally.
Meanwhile, the Alpe is also accessible from the Tiefenbach side by a narrow path.
In 2006 the Osterberg Alpe was leased by the family Füß from Maderhalm together with the Alpe Hinderst (Gatter Alpe) so that they could hold about 160 young cattle there.

On the Alpe Osterberg there are refreshing drinks, fresh milk, buttermilk, cheese, sausage and ham sandwiches and homemade cakes available.

Open daily.
